Located in favela Rocinha, the most populous favela in Rio, the first in a series of planned community cooking and activity centers, Cook+Eat+Play seeks to address several needs of favela families. The first story of the building serves as a community kitchen and culinary learning center. The second story is an inviting patio area with ample space and view of the adjacent garden. The rooftop has a futsal court (a miniaturized version of soccer) which is provided for the favela youth. Futsal players are encouraged to participate in cooking classes with their families, helping to reinforce good nutritional habits at a very young age.
