Bio

Megan Basnak, Associate AIA, CAPS, is an architectural designer and researcher at the IDeA Center at the University at Buffalo—State University of New York. Her research interests include investigating forms of architectural practice that aid typically underserved populations and completing studies to better understand the impact of universal design on different user groups. She has experience in the design of accessible home modifications, accessibility and universal design consultations with industry partners, and investigations into the current state of universal design education in the U.S. She has also co-authored several conference papers and publications including a book chapter in the forthcoming textbook from Routledge titled Diversity and Design: Understanding Hidden Consequences and has presented at several conferences across the U.S.
