Welcome to the Home Modifications Home Page

The IDeA Center provides design and consulting services for families and individuals, social service agencies, and not-for-profit organizations requiring home modifications. Over 700 environmental projects (emods) have been completed ranging from simple modifications to major re-design, structural changes and additions. Some projects are done on a pro-bono basis and others are completed for service fees. To complete this work, the IDeA Center has home modification experts on staff and maintains an extensive collection of product information related to accessible design and home modifications. These resources are made available to the public and other professionals. Clients have included private individuals, New York State Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities, Brockport State College, the New York State insurance Fund and the New York State Office for Persons with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD).
